I had a very hard time narrowing down to just a few for this sneak peek.  Another beautiful mama-to-be with a gorgeous baby bump!  We met on a hot and muggy night with thunder in the background and sprinkles in the air.  Luckily, the rain held off until *right* at the end when we were forced to call it quits just a little earlier than I had planned.  But with shots like these, I really didn’t need to keep going (but I could have – my camera just loved her!)

Thanks, Melissa & Jerry for getting soaked on the beach with me – it was worth it!  I literally have about 30 more just like these – can’t wait to get to them all and share your gallery with you.

This cake smash session was extra special since this birthday girl is an Independence Day baby – born on July 4th!  I thought about holding these pictures back until the 4th, but figured that her mommy and daddy wouldn’t be too happy if they had to wait that long to see their sneak peek!  :)

They told me at the start that she loves to eat on a typical day, but after digging into the icing, she wasn’t to sure about the actual cake.  That’s okay, the icing is my favorite, too, so we got along just fine!!

*I saw this on another photographer’s blog and thought it was a FANTASTIC idea, so I’m totally stealing it from her.  Thanks, Amy at TTT Photography*

Whaat???  How could I possibly be thinking about fall and HOLIDAY minisessions during this crazy hot summer weather?  Well, I realized I was completely booked until September, so I thought I’d better get the ball rolling!  My Mommy & Me Minisessions were a complete blast and I really enjoyed offering mini-sessions for the holidays last year.  But, I want to make sure to give you what you want.

So, if you have a few moments to spare on a hot, hot day (you’re inside anyway, right? :) ) I’d be grateful if you would fill out this brief survey and let me know what you’d like to see for this fall’s mini-sessions.  My goal is to provide families with a few images to 1) update their walls, 2) have a unique and beautiful holiday card and 3) give as gifts to family members over the holidays.  If you are interested in any of the three of those things (or something completely different), be sure to weigh in on the survey.

Please click and the survey will open up.  View Survey

Thank you for taking the time to give me your input!

I wanted to share with you today a real-life example of “What to Wear”.  This family showed up for their session and I was over-the-moon-excited about their outfits!  They did everything right – bright colors, coordination, comfort and style.  The baby had a three tiered dress that seemed to be the inspiration for their family look.  The older sister wore a skirt with leggings (it’s always a great idea to use layers for more of a 3D “pop”) in the same color scheme.  Hot pink, light blue and orange were the main colors so Mom wore a light blue top and Dad wore a lighter orange polo.  Their shoes were even coordinated – I LOVED all their summer sandals!!  Click on the slideshow below to see how awesome their outfits look together – no matching needed!!  Way to go, guys – you’re an inspiration for all my families and I hope you love your portraits!

**Slideshow seems to need a minute to load, so please click and wait a sec for it to start playing!  Thanks for your patience!**

And, here are some outfit ideas for your family if you have a session coming up this summer:

A beautiful baby, an awesome new location, super cute outfits…what more can a photographer ask for?  Well, maybe a smile or two.  Ha ha!   This was one of those sessions where I know that her mommy left thinking, “Did she *really* get any good pictures?” even though I assured her that we had!

18 months is a tough age – it’s honestly the second hardest age after 3 months!  {3 month olds are tough because they can’t really hold their head up well or sit on their own but 18 month olds are tough because they are prone to running away – and not old enough to bribe yet. :) }

Anyway, back to this sweet 18 month old girl.  She was definitely into exploring her surroundings – but we managed to go through three outfits and a diaper change before she was completely ‘over it’.  All in all, a total success!  And see – A SMILE!

And even though I know her mommy is partial to color, these eyelashes were just screaming for black & white!
