Happy Father’s Day to all of my families! Today’s sneak peek is for a new daddy – his little boy is just 3 months old! This little guy was so serious during our session. Of course, his mommy & daddy reported that he had been all smiles earlier that day. Isn’t that always how it is? But we managed to eek out a smile after all!
This one is my personal favorite from this session. I just love the slash of rainbow sun flare! (Oh, and since my husband commented that some might think that wasn’t supposed to be there, I totally did that on purpose!
Love you, Honey!)

When I was contacted last week by this 6 week old’s mommy, I thought it would probably be better if we waited until he was about 3 months old to do a session. I typically reserve my newborn sessions for babies under 14 days old, since they are only sleepy and bendy for a brief period of time after birth. And, it’s only a little while longer to wait until baby starts smiling and cooing if a baby is already over a month old. But when I heard their story, I knew this one might be different. Born early – at only 34 weeks – this little fighter has already been through surgery and recovery and is finally home with his family where he belongs! And what a beautiful family they are.
I was super excited when I spied his daddy’s (or was it his grandpa’s?) football and couldn’t wait to get this little guy in a deep enough sleep to prop him up on it. And he slept like a dream!!
Finally, a special collage for his parents of all his itty bitty (seriously, tiny!) baby bits. There is nothing more precious in the world!

I photographed this beautiful family when there were only three members – the fourth was still hanging out in her mommy’s belly! Actually, she was my very first maternity session ever (Thanks for trusting me!). Now her little peanut is 7 months old and this baby girl has the most adorable doe eyes. And, her big sister was the perfect little model for me. I’m so glad I chose to start with her because she was totally into the camera (for about 5 minutes
). Aren’t they the cutest?
At the end of the session, we managed to sneak in a few of this couple all by themselves. This is my absolute favorite – can’t you just feel their love? I am so excited to start shooting couples (Shhh – I haven’t announced that yet!) in the fall!

This mom-to-be is not just waiting on her new addition, she’s also waiting on her other half to return to her. Daddy is deployed right now and although there is a slight chance that he may be back in time for this little guy’s birth, they are planning the big day without him. So, these photos are especially important to give him a glimpse of her beautiful form in case that belly is gone before he arrives!
Big brother is going to do his best to help his mommy – he was so funny during our shoot. None of my usual tricks worked to get him to smile. He was determined to frown at me…but when his mom got out the bubbles, it was a hit! I really like this one where he’s blowing bubbles to his baby brother! And the last one just warms my heart!
