It’s a GIRL!!
There are so few surprises in life anymore – I always get a *tinge* extra excited when I hear that a client is waiting to find out the gender of their child when he/she is born! And then being asked to photograph the moment of their birth becomes that much more exciting. I’d like to give you a peek into the home birth of Alaina Lee, welcomed into the world at home by her strong mama, one of the most supportive birth partners/husbands I’ve seen, and the capable midwives at Seven Cities Midwifery. Her big brother, Malachi, got to meet her just a couple hours after she was born, too. I’m honored to share these moments with you.

It was a HOT ONE last night when we trekked all the way out to Smithfield to try out a new location! We originally had talked about this session on the beach, but I usually dissuade those with babies under 2 from the beach unless they are very comfortable little beach babes! The humid air made me a sweaty mess, but they held it together wonderfully! I am so excited to share these few with you all! Enjoy!

Sweet Allison was a FAB sleeper for me! I just love when I start to take a newborn’s legs out of her clothes and then just curl right back up as if they are still all curled up in the womb! That is my first clue that a baby is ‘fresh’ and ready to be molded into all those super cute positions that you see on my blog sneak peeks. And baby Allison did not disappoint! She was bendy, curly, and allowed me to move her into all sorts of positions and props! She was in a bucket, a basket, a bike, and a bowl! And then Daddy’s shoulder! I couldn’t decide whether to give a peek of the color or the black and white version for this one, so I decided BOTH! :)
