I absolutely love first birthday cake smash sessions! It has been so much fun to expand this portion of my business – I was inspired by a photographer in Rhode Island who does elaborate set-ups for her cake smashes. My boutique cake smashes are more simple, but the coordinated look of the outfits, cake, and decorations just makes me smile. When I suggested a winter themed cake smash for this princess, her mommy was all about it! I found big glittery snowflakes and Ebony from Tutu Cute Cakes made the perfect complimentary cake to complete the look! The result was a smash fit for a princess!!

Another sweet girl born right before Christmas! Sweet Paige gave me a run for my money – she was awake for quite a bit of her session, but you wouldn’t know it by looking at these precious portraits!

I was lucky to capture a few newborn girls right before the Christmas holiday. It was fun to try out some of my favorite holiday props with them – and with Elizabeth and her big sister, I just adore this sleigh portrait! I would love to see this first one in a big canvas!

I had three of my 2012 Milestones Babies in the studio recently and they were all so darn cute! This is notoriously one of the hardest ages to photograph since 3-4 month olds don’t sit up on their own yet and sometimes don’t even like to be on their bellies. They also smile all.the.time for their parents, but have not yet mastered smiling to strangers yet! 
But we always manage to capture their sweet, chubby faces and sparkly eyes – and that is what this milestone is all about!
