I know I’ve said it before, but being able to capture a baby from the time they are in the womb until they turn 1 is such an awesome part of my job. Miss Lorelai is graduating from my Milestones Plan this month and we celebrated her first birthday by smashing some cake (of course!). Enjoy this peek at her birthday bash!

My boutique cake smash sessions include both traditional birthday portraits AND a themed cake smash! We started with a fairy tea party and then moved on to a sweet winter dress and cake smashing! I was so excited to see this beauty again since she was one of my favorite newborn sessions of 2011. We decided to do a ‘winter themed’ smash and I was thrilled with the way it turned out!

I have been so lucky to capture Miss Sidney since she was just a newborn baby! She returned for the last of her Milestones sessions and the smiles were contagious!

I absolutely love first birthday cake smash sessions! It has been so much fun to expand this portion of my business – I was inspired by a photographer in Rhode Island who does elaborate set-ups for her cake smashes. My boutique cake smashes are more simple, but the coordinated look of the outfits, cake, and decorations just makes me smile. When I suggested a winter themed cake smash for this princess, her mommy was all about it! I found big glittery snowflakes and Ebony from Tutu Cute Cakes made the perfect complimentary cake to complete the look! The result was a smash fit for a princess!!

One of my favorite babies came back for a fun smash to celebrate her birthday! This purple and yellow daisy smash cake is one of my favorites from Tutu Cute Cakes by Ebony. Adorable-ness!
