This little stinker wanted to stay awake for his newborn session! Unfortunately, we do not allow that (ha ha!). So even though he gave me these big, almost chuckling grins, I eventually wore him out enough to get some traditional newborn poses. And his big brother was too adorable with him! Introducing….Noah, my first 2012 newborn!

I just couldn’t pick 10 favorite images of the newborns I photographed in 2011. I seriously could have chosen at least one from each of the adorable babies. So, I went through and picked a variety of images that showed some of my favorite hats, headbands, baskets, props, and sweet babies that melted my heart this year. I know I keep saying this, but I truly feel honored every time someone chooses me to photograph their newborn. They come to me when their precious new child is only days old and trust me to snuggle, soothe, and pose their baby to capture this fleeting time. That is a huge thing, and having had two babies of my own, I especially appreciate their trust and love of my work.

Another sweet girl born right before Christmas! Sweet Paige gave me a run for my money – she was awake for quite a bit of her session, but you wouldn’t know it by looking at these precious portraits!

I was lucky to capture a few newborn girls right before the Christmas holiday. It was fun to try out some of my favorite holiday props with them – and with Elizabeth and her big sister, I just adore this sleigh portrait! I would love to see this first one in a big canvas!

This little guy is missing his daddy, who had to deploy right before he was born. Luckily my last beach maternity session of the year was of his parents, so he will be able to look back and see how happy they were together and how much his daddy was looking forward to meeting him. Hopefully, these pictures will help him to see just how great they are doing!
