This is the session that almost wasn’t, so I am so thrilled that we were able to capture this growing family!  I won’t share the entire personal story, but let’s just say that the baby inside this belly very nearly made a too-early entrance to the world and I am so thankful that he or she decided to stay put for a while longer!  Looking forward to capturing their home birth and finding out the gender of this little miracle soon.

Last weekend, I had the chance to head out to the beach and photograph this expecting momma.  She’s due to have her princess in about three weeks, so we joked quite a bit about the fact that I’ve had THREE mommas who have given birth the night of or day after our session!  (Seriously!)  But it was a beautiful night for portraits and we captured some gorgeous images of her baby belly!

What an adorable smasher I had in my studio recently.  I love how “girly” these photos turned out and I know they’ll bring a smile to your face!

I just love eyelash shots:

I had the pleasure of meeting Christy and Andrew this past weekend – and they were such good sports for my very first Couples Session!  It was a totally different experience than my usual family sessions with young children, but I had so much fun experimenting with the light, hanging out in new, grungy locations, and capturing the love between this young married couple.  I am not used to having sessions where all of the parties involved listen, follow directions (the first time!), and actually want to be posed for the photos!

Total Fave:

I think I’m definitely looking forward to more Love Sessions – I even have a new package on my Pricing & Packages Detail page for “Couples Only”!  I know that my husband and I don’t have any photos of just the two of us – especially now that we have children.  One of us is either taking the pictures or we’re all in them together.  I just adore the idea of capturing the love of a married couple – a great Anniversary gift, right guys?  ;)

The Norfolk Botanical Garden is a beautiful spot for photographs (if your family has a membership, you can bring a photographer and have a session there at no extra charge) and since the weather has cooled off a bit, it was perfect for this family session.   Enjoy the sneak peek:

One of my new favorite things is to try to capture a shot or two of Mom & Dad without their children during family sessions.  It doesn’t always happen, but when it does, they are usually some of my favorite shots of the session!
