Oliver was the absolute perfect model for me when he came into the studio.  I had so much fun posing him and got some of my absolute all-time favorite newborn images during his session!

Many people ask me, “Why would anyone want to have THAT photographed?” when I tell them that I am a birth photographer.  What my clients know is that birth is an amazing journey for a woman and being able to freeze the moments in time leading up to and right after a baby is brought into the world is one of the best gifts to have. Often, the little details are the things that make a birth story complete.  I have had many women say, “Oh, I completely forgot about that!” or “I am so glad we have this – I was wondering about the timeline, I just couldn’t remember everything.”  Second to the sheer emotion on everyone’s faces, the details are my favorite part.  Here’s just a sample of some of the details from the birth day of Cohen:

The first installment of my Belly to Baby Package is always fun.  It’s the time when I get to know a new couple and capture their excitement and love as they prepare to welcome their new baby!  This session was no exception.  In fact, we had such a good time during our session that this couple met with me the next week to discuss birth photography and I’m thrilled to say that I will be there for the birth of their first child this spring!

When Jackson’s mommy contacted me about a birthday cake smash session, I was excited for two different reasons.  First, I haven’t seen Jackson since his newborn session, and she mentioned that his room has a nautical theme and I couldn’t wait to design something around that idea!!!   Ebony (of Tutu Cute Cakes by Ebony) and I had a blast coming up with this cake and background for the smash – enjoy a peek at Jackson’s birthday portraits!

You’ll probably recognize this beauty from previous blog posts!  Her mommy was the only one who signed up for a Valentine Mini-Session, so there was not enough interest for them to be held this year.  Fortunately, I needed a model for a special project I have been working on and she was more than willing to come over and pose! Isn’t she a doll?  I can’t wait for her 1st birthday cake smash session coming up in a few months!

And, since we’re on the topic of Valentines, I snapped a few of my own two kiddos with this Valentine backdrop.  When they aren’t fighting like cats and dogs, they really *do* love each other!  <3
